Just 2 km from the medieval  bastide town of Miramont de Guyenne, boasting several lovely restaurants and bars in which to sample the wonderful food and wine of the area and listen to live music in the square.

Experience the weekly market where you can discover local produce such as foie gras, truffles, confit de canard, oysters, and many famous French wines including Monbazillac, Duras and St Emilion to name but  a few.

Further afield, Bordeaux, Agen, Perigueux and many other place of interest, in the Lot, Garonne,and Dordogne valleys are all accessible day trips.

 For the British, this region has a particular resonance: for three hundred years, between 1154 and 1453, Aquitaine belonged to England, reverting to France at the end of the Hundred Years War. Aquitaine in the south-west of France is the country's largest region, stretching from Poitou-Charentes in the north, down to the Spanish border in the south and encompassing some of its greatest treasures, including the vineyards of Bordeaux, the dramatic scenery of the Dordogne, and the coastal resorts of Arcachon, Biscarrosse and Biarritz.
